Yield gain, energy savings, scrap reduction. Three levers, one model, an honest number at the bottom.
Four numbers.
One answer.
Deliberately conservative. Your reality is usually better.
Where the numbers come from.
We deliberately chose to under-promise — better surprised than disappointed.
Yield lever
+1.4 %
MDF industry standard. Tighter moisture bands = more yield per ton of raw material.
Energy lever
−2.8 %
Dryer controlled to setpoint instead of worst-case. Largest factor under gas-price volatility.
Scrap lever
−0.4 %
Less over- and under-dried material. Conservative — sites with frequent grade changes see more.
FAQ ROI Calculator.
How honest is this ROI calculator? +
Deliberately conservative. We use industry-typical averages — your actual line is likely better. Before any quote we run a proper calculation against your real shift data.
What assumptions are baked in? +
Standard MDF values: 1.4 % yield gain through moisture control, 2.8 % energy savings at the dryer, 0.4 % scrap reduction. Source: 600+ installation feedback and published research on moisture control in board production.
Why do you need tonnage and energy cost? +
Effects scale proportionally to production. 50,000 t/year and 300,000 t/year give very different payback times — not because the system differs but because more tons drive more savings.
Is the calculated payback realistic? +
Yes, slightly conservative. Our reference MDF site Northern Germany hit 11 months ROI on similar inputs. Other lines landed between 7 and 15 months.
What if we're not in MDF? +
Pick your segment under ‘Application' — effect sizes differ. Pellets, particleboard, solid wood, food and chemicals each have their own factors.
