Calibration on material change

Definition. Offset method instead of full calibration — how it works.

On material change — e.g. from beech to oak particles, or from one MDF fiber batch to another — material properties shift slightly.

Full calibration would be elaborate (sample chain, oven, days). Instead: factory calibration stays, an offset is set on site — comparing online value to offline sample.

Works because the 2-PMR method covers the material class — the offset only corrects fine material differences.

FAQ

What if the material class changes? +

Then we need a new calibration curve. We do this on-site or via remote maintenance.

Practical tip

Need concrete help for your line?

Three data points — material, temperature, position — are enough for a first sensor recommendation.
