Moisture measurement systems

Definition. What a moisture measurement system is and which designs exist.

A moisture measurement system measures the water content of a material. Inline during production or offline in the lab.

Inline systems: Non-contact (microwave, NIR) or penetration-rod probes (capacitive, resistive).

Offline systems: Oven method (reference), Karl-Fischer titration (for very dry materials), pyknometer (for densities).

At Döscher: Inline microwave is our specialization. We supply sensor + electronics + PLC connection.

FAQ

Which system suits my line? +

Depends on material, temperature, web width, ATEX zone. Tell us your task — we recommend concretely.

Practical tip

Need concrete help for your line?

Three data points — material, temperature, position — are enough for a first sensor recommendation.
